TerraScope collects anonymous analytics data through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. This includes:

  • Pages viewed and time spent on each page
  • Approximate geographic location (country / city level)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Referral source (how you arrived on the site)
  • Interactions with the map (layers toggled, features clicked)

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or account credentials. TerraScope does not require user registration.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

The data we collect is used exclusively to:

  • Analyse audience behaviour — understand which features are most used and improve the user experience
  • Monitor performance — detect errors, slow page loads, and technical issues
  • Guide development priorities — decide which data layers or regions to prioritise based on usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months from the date of collection, in accordance with CNIL (French data protection authority) recommendations.

After this period, the data is automatically deleted or fully anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to a specific user or device.

5. Cookies

TerraScope uses cookies placed by Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to measure website traffic. These cookies store:

  • A unique anonymous identifier
  • Session start time and duration
  • Pages visited during the session

You can disable these cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that doing so may affect our ability to improve the platform.
